Account & Data Deletion

Last updated: 10 June 2026

This Account & Data Deletion page is currently available only in English. Localised versions will be published after legal review in each language.

MedicalYou lets you delete your account and all associated data at any time. This page explains how to delete your MedicalYou account from inside the app, and how to request deletion if you have uninstalled the app or no longer have access to it. You do not need to reinstall the app, and you will never be redirected into the app, to complete a deletion request.

Delete your account from inside the app

Open the MedicalYou app and go to Settings“Danger zone” “Delete account”.

Deletion is immediate and permanent. It erases:

  • your health records and lab results;
  • your profile and emergency card;
  • your family sharing links; and
  • your sign-in identity (the record held with our authentication provider).

Encrypted copies of uploaded document files are permanently deleted from our storage systems within 30 days, in line with our Data Retention and Deletion Schedule.

Request deletion without the app

If you have uninstalled the app, or cannot sign in, you can request deletion by email — no reinstall and no sign-in to any third-party flow is required. Email privacy@medicalyouglobal.com or hello@medicalyouglobal.com from the email address registered to your accountwith the subject “Account deletion request”.

We verify the request against the registered email address and complete the deletion within 30 days.

If you care for someone, or someone cares for you

Accounts that are — or have previously been — linked to another person as a carer or dependant cannot be deleted from inside the app; the app explains this when you try. This protects the integrity of the care-access audit record. Instead, email us as described above and we will handle both the unlinking and the deletion for you.

What is deleted, and what we may retain

All identifiable personal data and health records are permanently deleted. Limited records may be retained where the law requires it — for example, security and audit logs kept in accordance with our retention schedule. Data that was already irreversibly anonymised under the separate opt-in research programme cannot be re-identified or recalled.

Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle your data, and its Data Retention and Deletion Schedule governs the retention periods that apply.
